MURAL UNVEILING:
Ø
Join us at 11AM for the
unveiling of the giant mural: “The Life & Legend of
Pocahontas”. The
mural
is approximately
3,000 square feet,
measuring 20’ tall and 150’ long.
Ø
About the Artist:
Michael Kirby- Baltimore Native-His murals and “sidewalk
masterpieces” have appeared around the world, from the walls of Rome
and Milan, in Italy, to the streets of Mazatlan, Mexico, and Wausau,
Wisconsin.
Ø
About the Mural:
The mural has been being worked on for months, secretly
behind the big blue tarp. It will be unveiled in a special ceremony
on June 2nd, @ 11AM. The mural carries the viewer from
left to right through a symbolic day in history. It illustrates the
life-journey that Pocahontas took, from revered princess and
daughter of Indian Chief Powhatan, to wife and legend, as she
bridged two cultures, Powhatan and English.
